In 2017, Congressman Freddie Siao lobbied for multi-million infrastructure projects for the city of Iligan. Congress approved these priority projects for the development of Iligan.
- The Iligan City Coastal Bypass Road (from Sta. Filomena to Buru-un)
- The Iligan-Cagayan de Oro Alternate Road
- Iligan Esplanade (along Mandulog River)
- Iligan Hinterland Roads (from C-3 to Mandulog, Dulag and Digkilaan)
Implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The construction of Iligan Esplande Phase 1 (2019) started on June 20, 2019 with a project cost of PHP 72,375,000.00. The Iligan Esplande Phase 2 (2020) started on February 21, 2020 with a project cost of PHP 46,575,568.12.
The construction of Iligan Coastal Bypass Road Phase 1 started on February 20, 2018 with a project cost of PHP 73.7 million. The Iligan Bypass Road Phase 2 started on March 19, 2018 with a project cost of PHP 45.4 million.
The bypass and alternate roads aim to decongest the city allowing vehicle traffic to go faster.
