We Need Your Help: Bayanihan sa Cagayan Valley
“Rescuer! Rescuer! Rescuer!” this is the distress call of the residents who got caught by the flood caused by Typhoon Ulysses.
The roaring cries in that pitch-black night are like a sound of horror that hunts the hope in every beating heart. From Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook you can hear the terror and the trembling voices of the helpless residents that captured the hearts of the many.
Over the weekend, Filipinos were shocked as residents of parts of Cagayan and Isabela saw their homes submerged underwater as Magat Dam released water due to the recent Typhoon Ulysses. For four decades this is the worst they had experienced which left most of the residents with no choice but to run to their roofs as they waited to be rescued.
Several provinces in Luzon have been placed under a state of calamity due to the extent of devastation caused by the successive storms in recent weeks. Dozens have died and thousands have been displaced after widespread flooding that inundated many areas for three weeks now due to Typhoons Pepito, Quinta, Siony, Tonyo, Ulysses and Super Typhoon Rolly.
Several initiatives were already dispatched to help the basic needs of the residents greatly affected by the flooding. One of those initiatives is the Project We Need Your Help: Bayanihan sa Cagayan Valley. This project is composed of Youth leaders in the Cagayan Province and has grown to gain support from the different youth leaders in the country. The initiative aims to help the victims of Typhoon Ulysses and to uplift their hearts as it calls for bayanihan giving them hope in this challenging times.
Project We Need Your Help: Bayanihan sa Cagayan Valley, heard the call for rescue and they took the lead for the call of Bayanihan. The project was created November 14, 2020 and started its cause on November 15, 2020 until now. In partnership with Kapit Pinas, Indigenous Youth Servant Leaders Association of the Philippines, TAYO, Giving Hero Org. and other organizations that is now reaching their support for the call of bayanihan.
To join the bayanihan you may lend your support by the two initiatives associated in the project.
First is the “Gamit mo: Kailangan ko”, they accept the following donations:

- Medicine
- Diapers
- Toiletries
- Towels and blankets
- Clothes
- Alcohol
- Face mask
